The Murwillumnah Football Club (MFC) is excited to announce their upcoming Senior Mens and Womens Six A Side Summer Social Soccer event! It's time to dust off those soccer boots and get ready for some friendly competition.
Before diving into the details, it's important to note that this event is all about having fun and building connections. While MFC wants everyone to enjoy themselves, they want to remind all participants that this event does not provide player insurance. So, it's necessary for each player to take responsibility for their own safety and have their own insurance cover.
To ensure the safety of all players, team managers or team captains must make sure that every participating player has completed and signed a registration form. Additionally, they must have also signed the waiver/declaration and received a copy of the rules before stepping onto the field.
Now, let's talk eligibility. The minimum participation age for both the men's and women's competition is 15 years old. To be eligible to play, players must have completed and signed a registration form and be registered to a team. For players under 18, a parent or guardian must sign the registration form.
To make the event run smoothly, all fees must be paid in full before the competition kicks off. Each match will be played for 2 × 20 minutes on a third-size field, or as per the relevant competition time. There will be a quick five-minute break between halves to catch your breath and strategize.
Teams will be made up of six players on the field, with a maximum of ten players per team. Reserves can be interchanged without any restrictions, as long as the referee is notified prior to each exchange. The player being replaced must leave the field before the reserve player can enter.
Now, let's talk about scoring goals. Goals can only be scored from outside the goal area (D), and only the goalkeeper is allowed to make contact with the ball inside the goal area. The goalkeeper can handle the ball only inside the goal area. Back passes to the keeper cannot be handled, but back pass headers are perfectly fine. The goalkeeper can be exchanged, but only after notifying the referee and receiving acknowledgement.
When it comes to free-kicks, they are always indirect, and slide or stud up tackles are strictly prohibited. So, let's keep it fair and safe for everyone on the field. Yellow cards will result in a 10-minute sin bin, while a second yellow card means an automatic send-off. We want to remind everyone that foul language and misconduct will not be tolerated. The MFC disciplinary committee will handle all instances of code breaches, so it's essential for players and spectators alike to familiarise themselves with the code displayed throughout the club.
The referee holds the authority to red card a player, resulting in a full game send-off. A red-carded player cannot be substituted. It's important for teams to be punctual as games will start promptly at the scheduled time. Referees are instructed to start all matches on time. Any team unable to take the field on time with a minimum of four players will forfeit their match.
In case a team needs a helping hand, they are allowed to borrow one registered player from another team to make up a maximum of six players. However, these borrowed players cannot be used as reserves. Team managers or team captains must ensure that borrowed players have completed and signed a registration form, signed the waiver/declaration, and received a copy of the rules before they join the game. Borrowed players must leave the match immediately when a full team of six players is present.
Lastly, let's touch on the outcomes. In the case of forfeits, the opposition will be awarded a win, earning them 3 points. A win during regular play will also result in 3 points, while a draw earns each team 1 point. Female players are allowed to protect their chest by using their forearm, but the referee will step in if this rule is abused and rule it as a handball infringement. Remember to wear shin pads and soccer boots at all times, and make sure there are no metal tags on those boots.
Get ready for an action-packed summer of soccer at the Murwillumbah Football Club's Senior Mens and Womens Six A Side Summer Social Soccer event. Let's kick off the fun and show our passion for the sport while keeping it friendly and fair on the field!
