Starting from June 16th, this month-long adventure will take participants to the stunning Cordillera Blanca, the highest tropical mountain range in the world. With a main base in Huaraz, known as the 'Chamonix of the Andes', climbers will have the opportunity to conquer peaks ranging from 5,000m to 6,800m in altitude.
The itinerary includes an array of mountains like Ishinca, Urus Este, Pisco Oeste, Chopicalqui, Yanapaccha, Vallunaraju, Alpamayo, and the highest peak in Peru, Huascaran. Participants will also immerse themselves in Peruvian culture, savoring the local cuisine and vibrant clothing. The trip, which has been allocated a budget of $3000, is tailored for experienced mountaineers with skills in trad climbing, multiday bushwalking, and the use of crampons and ice axes.
Safety precautions are essential, including first aid, avalanche, and crevasse training. Fitness levels must be high, as climbers will navigate the challenging terrain together. Preparatory trips will be conducted by Nat and Byron to assess participants' abilities and provide necessary training.
