Adelaide Mountain Bike Club, the Mountain Biking club in Adelaide Hills Council, is gearing up to host an exhilarating Cross Country Olympic (XCO) race. If you're a fan of mountain biking and enjoy a bit of competition, this event is not to be missed!
So, what exactly is XCO racing? Well, it's a lap-based mountain bike race that combines the thrill of longer climbs, traversing through challenging terrain, and exciting downhill trails. Our riders will navigate their way through a variety of trails, with a total length of approximately 5 km.
In true competitive spirit, riders will be divided into different categories based on their grade and gender. The race will consist of multiple laps, and it's all about crossing that finish line first! Our club will strategically determine wave start categories for each race, taking into account the number of entries we receive.
To ensure fairness and a level playing field, it is highly recommended that competitors race in the grade recommended by the club. This way, everyone gets a fair shot at victory and a chance to showcase their skills.
Now, let's talk about the logistics. For senior riders, the entry fee is set at $35, while junior riders can enter for $25. But wait, there's more! In order to compete, all riders must have a valid AusCycling race license. Safety is our top priority, so each competitor will be provided with rental race plates that come with handy transponders attached. Just remember, these race plates must be returned after each race.
We understand that sometimes life can throw unexpected curveballs, so we do offer refunds for race costs in accordance with our club's refund policy. Rest assured, we've got your back!
