Located in Kelvin Grove, Brisbane, Motus Movement Therapy is a gym that focuses on exercise, science, and movement to guide individuals through injury, pain, and rehab towards enhanced movement, performance, and robustness. The name "Motus” comes from Latin, meaning “to move,” emphasising the essential role of movement in maintaining health and well-being.

The Motus method combines evidence-based education, exercise therapy, and hands-on modalities to alleviate pain, improve movement patterns, and enhance performance. The goal is to empower individuals to take control of their pain and injuries by understanding the root cause, not just the symptoms. Motus is dedicated to helping individuals continue doing what they love and not settling for limitations.

Rehabilitation is seen as training in the presence of injury at Motus Movement Therapy. The focus is on committing to the process, being inspired to become the best version of oneself, and coming back better, stronger, more resilient, and robust. The gym aims to instil a sense of motivation and determination in individuals undergoing rehab, encouraging them to move, live, and thrive.

Motus Movement Therapy offers various modalities to address pain, enhance performance, and accelerate recovery. Movement assessments are conducted to assess active and passive range of motion, joint and muscle restrictions, and muscle strength. These assessments help identify areas for improvement and guide personalised programming for addressing movement patterns, technique, and performance. Accessory programmes are also developed to support specific goals.

The gym also provides dry needling and massage therapy for pain and injury management, sports recovery, and relaxation. NormaTec recovery boots are available to increase circulation and reduce muscle soreness through pneumatic compression.

The founder of Motus Movement Therapy, Felice Chandler, is a qualified physiotherapist with a Bachelor of Exercise Science and a Masters of Physiotherapy from Griffith University Gold Coast. With experience in hospital, private practise, and sporting clubs, she has a deep understanding of various health conditions and injuries. As an athlete herself, having participated in athletics, basketball, and rugby, Felice has personally experienced the impact of injuries. She believes in offering an individualised approach to each patient, recognising the significance of tailoring treatment to their specific needs.
