Moody Park Outdoor Pool, located at 701 Tenth Street in New Westminster, offers a refreshing and fun swimming experience for residents and visitors alike. The pool is closed for the season and will reopen according to the schedule set by the city's Parks and Recreation department.
The pool offers a variety of sessions, including reserved and drop-in sessions. Participants can reserve a session up to 3 days in advance if they are residents, and 2 days in advance for non-residents. All sessions are 1. 5 hours long and have a scheduled start and end time.
Late arrivals must leave at the scheduled end time to ensure a smooth transition for the next session.
For those looking for a low-impact way to improve cardio and strength, the pool offers Aquafit and Aqua Zumba classes in both deep and shallow water. All abilities are welcome, and floatation belts are provided for deep water classes. Youth aged 13-14 may participate if accompanied by an adult who is also participating in the class.
The pool also offers leisure swim sessions for all ages, as well as lane swim sessions for those looking to swim at their own pace. Kickboards are available for lane swimmers, and there is also an adult leisure or lane swim session available for adults only.
Additionally, Grimston Park Wading Pool is one of the few remaining wading pools in the Metro Vancouver region. Designed for toddlers to splash, play, and cool down in the summer, the pool is a great way for young children to become more confident around water. While there is no lifeguard on duty, a Parks and Recreation staff person is present to fill, drain, and chlorinate the wading pool.
