Montrose Netball Club Inc (LYVNA) is a local sports club located in Melbourne, Victoria. Established in 1974, the club has a rich history and is a proud member of the Lilydale and Yarra Valley Netball Association (LYVNA). From its humble beginnings with six teams, Montrose Netball Club has now grown to have around 25 teams competing in the LYVNA winter and spring competitions.
All matches are played on Saturdays at the Pinks Reserve Regional Netball Facility in Kilsyth, conveniently located behind the Kilsyth Basketball Stadium. The club offers two competition seasons, winter from March to September and spring from October to December.
The main objective of Montrose Netball Club is to promote the participation of players in a team sport where they can develop commitment and friendships, all while having fun and enjoyment. The club strives to assist in the development of its players by emphasising fair play, skill development, and a love for netball.
The club is run by a dedicated Committee of Management, with the support of parents who volunteer their time to help and support the junior and senior players. This collaborative effort allows the club to successfully serve the local community. Known for its friendly and family-oriented atmosphere, Montrose Netball Club aims to foster a sense of fun and enjoyment while developing the skills and knowledge of the game.
The club welcomes members of all ages and skill levels, catering to age groups ranging from under 9's to the open section. Additionally, there is a NetSetGO programme available for children aged 5 to 10, providing a positive introduction to netball and teaching them the basic skills of the sport. NetSetGO is Netball Australia's only junior entry netball programme and focuses on creating a safe, social, and active environment for all participants.
