Hey everyone,
Just a quick note from Sam, the lead organiser at The Skateparks Project. He wanted to give you an update on Monk's Skatepark in Stonebridge Park, London.
Over the years, the skatepark has become a real hub for skaters and communities interested in building their own parks.
Here's the lowdown: Monk's Skatepark offers a cracking experience for all skill levels. It's got a bunch of metal ramps on a smooth tarmac base. The highlight? A back-and-forth run that's perfect for practising tricks. On either side of a funbox, you'll find quarter pipes and flat banks – ideal for getting creative. There's even a mini ramp for those into vert skating.
It's open to the public but does have specific opening and closing times, so make sure to check the schedule before heading over.
Finding Monk's Skatepark is a breeze. It's right on North Circular Road in Stonebridge Park, London. Use the address or the handy map provided to navigate your way there.
Exciting news: Monk's Skatepark has teamed up with Jackpot Peanut Butter, thanks to The Skateparks Project. The park was completed with advice from Design and Development for Skateboarding and has stuck to local regs, including the temporary closure due to COVID.
If you're interested in all things skateparks, The Skateparks Project's website is a treasure trove. There's a skatepark finder, news updates, and loads of info on getting involved or volunteering.
Sam and the team at Monk's Skatepark welcome all skaters and fans to join their community. Whether you want to share info about a local skatepark, write a news piece, or just help spread the word, there are plenty of ways to get involved.
Overall, Monk's Skatepark in London is top-notch. With its variety of ramps and commitment to supporting skatepark development across the UK, it's a must-visit for skaters of all levels.
Catch you at the park!
