Nestled in 80 acres of private fields and woodland in Almondsbury, Mojo Active has consistently impressed since its establishment in 2012 as a birthday party and boot camp fitness venue.
Not content with just that, Mojo Active has evolved into a premier provider of corporate and educational events, as well as a sought-after location for parties and high ropes activities. In fact, Mojo Active was recently shortlisted for the Bristol Life awards in Leisure and Tourism, a testament to their commitment to delivering top-notch outdoor experiences.
Founded by Jo McConnell and Mark Johnson, Mojo Active aims to inspire people to embrace the great outdoors and lead an active lifestyle. Unfortunately, Jo McConnell passed away in June 2019 after battling cancer with incredible courage. Her dedication lives on, and Mojo Active continues to fulfil her vision.
Safety is paramount at Mojo Active, and they have an impressive track record to prove it. All instructors hold DBS checks, and a qualified first-aider is always on-site during activities. Mark Johnson, the Operations Director, has an extensive background as a military Physical Training Instructor and in outdoor activity centres. With his expertise, he ensures that Mojo Active maintains the highest safety standards and professionalism. The entire staff undergoes thorough training, covering activities, safety, and child safeguarding procedures. Rigorous risk assessments and operating procedures are in place to ensure smooth and secure sessions.
Mojo Active caters to all ages and offers an extensive range of outdoor activities. The centre is proud to be OFSTED registered and has been awarded the Learning Outside the Classroom quality badge, recognising their commitment to providing educational experiences.
At Mojo Active, you'll find a team of passionate and dedicated individuals. Mark Johnson, the Operations Director, brings his wealth of military training and outdoor education experience. Cory Harrison, the Centre Manager, oversees the smooth running of activities, events, holiday clubs, and staff recruitment. Ollie Bowell, an Activities Instructor, is a true outdoor enthusiast and particularly loves paddleboarding and kayaking. Helen Dyas, the Office Manager, has a deep love for the outdoors and shares her extensive office expertise. And though they are no longer with us, we will always remember Charlie, the much-loved security and office dog who brought joy to everyone's lives.
