About

Moana Coasters Walking Group is a vibrant sports club located in Adelaide, Australia. With a current membership of 52 members, the group organises weekly walks on Tuesdays at 9:00 am. The walks are of medium pace and usually last between 45 to 60 minutes.

One of the standout features of Moana Coasters is their dog-friendly policy. Members are encouraged to bring their furry friends along for the walks, making it a great opportunity for both exercise and socialisation for both humans and dogs. However, it is important to note that the group is not pram or wheelchair friendly.

The meeting point for the walks is at 9:00 am at the Esplanade near the Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC). More specifically, the meeting point is on the right-hand side of the toilets, near the shelter, lawned car-park side, opposite Deep Blue café. This picturesque location serves as the starting point for the group's adventures.

Moana Coasters Walking Group is proud to be supported by the National Heart Foundation of Australia, with a mission to promote heart health and overall well-being through regular physical activity. The group acknowledges and respects the Traditional Owners and custodians of the land they walk on, paying homage to their rich cultural heritage.

Joining the Moana Coasters Walking Group offers a range of benefits. Walking for an average of 30 minutes a day has been proven to reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, and diabetes by 30 to 40 per cent. It also aids in managing weight, blood pressure, and cholesterol levels, as well as reducing the risk of certain cancers and maintaining bone density.

Testimonials from group members, such as the inspiring story of Maria, highlight the transformative power of walking in improving overall mental and physical health. Maria's journey from being overweight and dealing with diabetes and blood pressure issues to being fit and healthy demonstrates the remarkable impact of incorporating regular exercise, such as walking, into one's life.

By joining the Moana Coasters Walking Group, members not only gain access to a supportive and motivated community but also become part of a wider network of walking groups within a specific radius. This fosters a sense of connexion and camaraderie, as well as the opportunity to explore different locations and meet like-minded individuals.

Whether you're looking to improve your heart health, enjoy the beautiful nature of Adelaide, or simply meet new people, Moana Coasters is the perfect walking group for you. Join their Facebook group to stay updated on upcoming walks and actively contribute to building a healthier community.
