MM Studios Dance is a renowned dance school located in Stanthorpe, Queensland. With a wide range of dance styles available, the studio welcomes students as young as 12 months old. The studio offers classes tailored to suit each individual's needs, ensuring that every student feels cared for and uplifted. There are classes that focus on the fun aspect of dance, as well as opportunities to be a part of the 2023 Performance Teams for both group and solo performances. These teams have the chance to compete in various dance eisteddfods across Queensland and New South Wales.
At MM Studios Dance, students can also pursue Comdance (previously known as CSTD) Examinations in Classical Ballet, Jazz, and Tap. These examinations not only reinforce technique but also enhance the overall dance experience. Additionally, the studio offers classes in Progressing Ballet Technique, Acrobatic Arts, and Queensland Ballet Petit Pointers.
Classical Ballet forms the foundation of dance, teaching students posture, grace, and discipline. Starting from the age of 2, students learn musicality, rhythm, and timing. Ballet examinations are strongly recommended to further solidify technique.
Tap is a highly enjoyable style of dance that captivates many young students with the delightful sounds produced by tap shoes. It is an excellent way for children to improve their timing, rhythm, balance, and coordination.
Jazz dance, derived from classical ballet, is an exciting style that allows individuals to discover their own movement and style, fueled by energetic music. Many children find their passion for dance through jazz.
MM Studios Dance follows the Acrobatic Arts syllabus, ensuring safe and effective acrobatic training. The studio has three qualified Acrobatic Art Teachers and uses heavy-duty tumbling mats for a secure learning environment. The Acrobatic classes are available at three different levels: Level 1 for beginners, Level 2 for intermediate learners, and an advanced level for those who have mastered unassisted walkovers and cartwheels.
Contemporary dance is a unique and individual style that offers endless possibilities of choreography. While there is no set technique, contemporary dance is influenced by classical training and can be characterised by either a soft, relaxed feel or strong and dynamic movements. MM Studios Dance offers contemporary classes for junior, intermediate, and senior students.
Hip-hop dance, known for its connexion with street dance styles and hip-hop music, exudes a more relaxed and free-flowing vibe. It breaks away from rigid movements and allows students to express themselves creatively.
