Minis Collaroy Cougars Rugby Club offers an exciting opportunity for young boys and girls, aged Under 6 to Under 9, to immerse themselves in the world of rugby league. With a primary focus on fun and active participation, these budding athletes get to experience the exhilaration of modified rugby union games every Saturday morning.
Operating under the Australian Rugby Union Pathway rules, this vibrant competition is jointly organised by the esteemed Warringah Junior Rugby Union and Manly Junior Rugby Union. The games typically run from March to August, allowing our young stars to hone their skills and forge unforgettable memories throughout the season.
Our fixtures are held at several picturesque locations in and around Sydney, providing a diverse and vibrant playing experience for our esteemed participants. From the sandy beaches of Collaroy to the scenic settings of Dee Why, Narrabeen, Newport, Pittwater, Wakehurst, Allambie, Forest, Harbord, Manly, and Seaforth, this league is not short on breathtaking backdrops.
As the age groups progress, the game modifications adapt accordingly. Under 6 and Under 7 players engage in a tag-based 7-a-side game, where tackling is replaced by tagging and rucks and mauls give way to skilful passing manoeuvres. Under 8 kicks things up a notch, introducing tackling, rucking, and mauling, while expanding the playing field to half size. Finally, Under 9 presents a challenging 10-a-side match, showcasing the developing prowess of our aspiring athletes.
So, if you're a young rugby league enthusiast itching to have a blast on the field, Minis Collaroy Cougars Rugby Club is where you need to be. Join us for an action-packed season of camaraderie, skill-building, and unforgettable memories. Lace up those boots, grab that rugby ball, and get ready to show off your sporting prowess like never before!
