Mevagissey Activity Centre

The Mevagissey Activity Centre, also known as theMAC, is a community centre and gym located in Saint Austell, New Zealand. As a non-profit organisation, theMAC is dedicated to providing a facility that engages and encourages the entire community to participate in fitness activities at their own pace, while having fun and socialising.

The centre offers a wide range of activities for its members. Indoor facilities include a large sports hall, a fully equipped gymnasium with weights, treadmills, bicycles, cross trainers, and rowers. There are also various meeting rooms and a computer/IT suite for members to utilise. Weekly classes such as yoga, pilates, zumba, circuits, tai chi, and children's acro are also available.

For those who prefer outdoor activities, theMAC has a large grass playing field, two tarmac tennis courts, and an all-weather bowling green. Mevagissey Football Club plays their home matches on the playing fields during the football season, and theMAC has an established and friendly bowls team.

Members can enjoy 'pay and play' options for activities like table tennis, badminton, short tennis, 5-a-side football, bowls, tennis, basketball, netball, and field hire. Additionally, members have the opportunity to sit, relax, and socialise at the Ground and Grain Bar, which serves a variety of hot and cold beverages, as well as snacks. The comfortable bar and light, spacious conservatory are great places to chat with friends after a workout or class. TheMAC also offers function hire for social gatherings and clubs, and is equipped with tables, chairs, crockery, glasses, and cutlery.
