Metheringham Outdoor Swimming Pool, also known as Lido Pool, is a community pool located in Lincoln. It is a volunteer-run facility that has been operating since 1975. The pool was originally dug out by villagers using spades to provide an opportunity for school children to learn to swim.
Today, Metheringham Pool continues to be operated by dedicated volunteers from the community who work tirelessly to organise fundraising events throughout the year. The pool is considered the gem of the village and is warmly embraced by the locals.
Metheringham Pool offers a range of activities and sessions to cater to various needs. Open Swims are available for all visitors, while Private Bookings provide exclusive pool access for groups of up to 30 swimmers. The pool also hosts Adult Swims, which are specifically for swimmers aged 16 and over.
For those interested in cold water swimming, special sessions are available from 1st to 28th April. Swimmers can sign up for an account on the website to purchase credits and book a session. Additionally, there is a special offer of 10 credits for the price of 9.
Starting from 30th April, the pool will offer bookable sessions for private groups. Slots must be booked in advance and are available for up to 30 swimmers. The cost is 60 for up to 15 swimmers and 75 for 16–30 swimmers. Non-swimmers can attend at no additional charge.
Metheringham Pool has made efforts to cater to all swimmers, including those with special requirements. There is a seat available to assist wheelchair users in and out of the water, as well as access to a disabled changing room.
