Merthyr Indoor Bowls Centre

Merthyr Indoor Bowls Centre, also known as Merthyr Tydfil Indoor Bowls Club, is a community facility located in Merthyr Tydfil, New Zealand. The centre is operated by Merthyr Tydfil (Rhydycar) Bowls Limited and the Merthyr Tydfil Indoor Bowls Club. It provides a range of services and facilities for men, women, and youths of all ages.

Bowls is a game that is enjoyed by people of all ages, and Merthyr Indoor Bowls Centre welcomes individuals with no previous knowledge or experience in the sport. The centre offers FREE tuition, loan shoes, and bowls to newcomers, making it an ideal place for beginners to give bowls a try. Fun and friendly coaching facilities are also available for youths and charity groups in the Merthyr Tydfil and surrounding areas.

Merthyr Indoor Bowls Centre boasts excellent facilities for hire, making it an ideal venue for various events and occasions. The centre has a lounge area that can accommodate up to 80 people, and an events area that can hold up to 130 people. Both rooms are equipped with a small dance floor. Additionally, there is a smaller conference room suitable for 20 people.

The events room also features a bar, and the centre offers a catering service for buffet arrangements.

The Merthyr Tydfil Indoor Bowls Club was established in 1975 and currently has close to 300 members. The club is affiliated with the Welsh Indoors Bowls Association and the Welsh Ladies Indoor Bowls Association. Over the years, the club has achieved significant success, winning the Welsh National Club Championship in the 1981-1982, 1987-1988, and 2005–2006 seasons. Several club members have also received prestigious honours, such as being appointed President of The Welsh Indoor Bowls Association and serving as captains of the Welsh international team.
