The first team’s been smashing it with back-to-back promotions in 2014, 2015, and 2016. They’ve even got four senior teams in the Surrey Championship. The club’s grounds got a makeover in 2012, with a shiny new clubhouse and a second pitch with an all-weather wicket. And let’s not forget The Ring on Earlswood Common, home to more cricketing action.
Merstham Cricket Club is all about the local community. They’re big on cricket coaching programmes in schools and are proud holders of the ECB Clubmark status since 2009, re-accredited as recently as 2022—so you know they’re serious about inclusivity and safeguarding.
The junior section is buzzing, with 11 teams ranging from under 9s to under 15s, snagging several trophies over the years. For the adults, the club fields four Saturday teams in the Surrey Championship, plus two Sunday sides. They also dive into Twenty20 competitions like the Surrey Slam and even a local Indoor Cricket league during winter.
