The Meridian Kung Fu Rochford Club is excited to offer the Meridian Kung Fu (UK) Instructor Programme, a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to become certified instructors and eventually run their own branches. This programme is perfect for those with a deep passion for martial arts and a strong dedication to teaching.
The programme consists of 6 levels of progression, each one building upon the last and designed to equip participants with the necessary coaching and management skills. Led by experienced Instructor and business mentor Sifu Steve Carpenter, monthly 2-hour seminars at our headquarters provide invaluable guidance and knowledge. Additionally, participants will gain hands-on training in actual classes once a week, ensuring they develop the critical skills needed to become a Meridian Kung Fu (UK) Coach.
The best part? The programme is completely free of charge! It's an incredible opportunity to train as a qualified Meridian Kung Fu (UK) Coach. However, please note that the number of new recruits accepted each year is limited, and there are strict guidelines that must be followed throughout the 4-year programme. There are also additional costs for coaching kit (£60), coaching manual (£15), and a DBS check (£9).
Each level of the Instructor Programme focuses on different aspects of coaching and teaching. Level 1 introduces participants to basic class involvement duties and equipment set up. At Level 2, participants delve into coaching techniques such as pad and drill training, while also learning the importance of building rapport with students. Level 3 emphasises class management systems, including the class register and student organisation. Level 4 hones advanced coaching skills and focuses on coaching small groups. Level 5 highlights demonstration coaching ability, equipment set up, and small group curriculum training. Finally, Level 6 provides tuition on branch management, covering topics such as economics, marketing, maintenance, insurance, and first aid.
Upon successfully completing Level 6, participants will achieve Provisional Instructor status. This opens up the opportunity to open their own branch on a one-year trial period, as long as they meet the standards outlined in the Instructors handbook. And for those who require a full-time premises, Meridian Kung Fu (UK) can provide a lease basis arrangement in any area of the UK.
