The Meridian Kung Fu (UK) Instructor Programme is a fantastic opportunity for those who are passionate about martial arts and have a desire to teach. This programme is designed to not only help individuals become skilled martial arts instructors but also to give them the tools and knowledge to eventually run their own branch.
The programme is broken down into 6 levels of progression, which are taught to recruits. In order to reach the Probationary Instructor level, participants must successfully complete all 6 levels. Coaching and management skills are taught through monthly seminars led by experienced Instructor and business mentor, Sifu Steve Carpenter. These seminars are complemented by hands-on training in actual classes, allowing participants to develop the necessary skills to become a qualified Meridian Kung Fu (UK) Coach.
One of the best things about this programme is that there is no charge for the course and the opportunity to train as a qualified coach. However, please keep in mind that spots are limited each year and there are strict guidelines that must be followed throughout the 4-year programme.
As part of the programme, participants will receive coaching kit, coaching manual, and will undergo a DBS check. These are all essential tools to help participants succeed as coaches.
Each level of the programme focuses on different aspects of coaching and management. From basic class involvement duties to advanced coaching skills, participants will gain a well-rounded skill set that will prepare them for a successful career as a martial arts instructor. This includes learning how to set up equipment, conduct health and safety checks, follow the curriculum, and create enjoyable and effective sessions for students.
Upon completion of the programme, participants will be awarded Provisional Instructor status. This opens up opportunities to open their own branch and have a one-year trial period to prove themselves. If all standards outlined in the Instructor's handbook are met, participants will be awarded with Full Instructor status. Additionally, Meridian Kung Fu (UK) can provide a full-time premises on a lease basis in any area of the UK for those who require it.
