Melton Kings Basketball Club in Melton Mowbray has been a staple in Leicestershire’s sports scene since 1973. Founded by Alan Hodgkinson, a former maths teacher from the old King Edward VII School, the club proudly carries the “Kings” nickname, reflecting its roots.
The club's grown a lot from its early days, now offering opportunities for men, women, juniors, and inclusive teams. They practise and play at John Ferneley College on Scalford Road, making it easy for everyone to join in and be part of the community.
Melton Kings is all about the love for basketball. It’s a place to sharpen skills, get fitter, and make friends. The club’s commitment to inclusivity and community keeps it thriving, ensuring basketball remains a key part of Melton Mowbray’s sporting life.
