Visitors are not permitted to enter the building where Melbourne Ballet School operates from until further notice. Instead, classes are held outdoors in the car park at the studio, located at 10 Summit Road Noble Park North. The gates to the car park are closed during classes and only opened to let students through. Parents are not allowed to stay in the dance area and must drop off and pick up their children only.
They may wait in their own vehicle.
Melbourne Ballet School takes the safety of its dance community seriously and has implemented a COVID Safe Plan. Outdoor classes are capped at a maximum of 10 students per class, regardless of age. The school will notify everyone as soon as possible about any changes to the schedule. In the event of inclement weather, efforts will be made to run the classes on Zoom instead.
If a teacher is showing any signs or symptoms of illness, they will not attend classes and arrangements will be made for a replacement or to hold the class online.
The Melbourne Ballet School offers a variety of classes and styles for children of all ages. With a focus on providing a professional yet fun environment, the school aims to bring out the potential dancer in each student. The classes incorporate different teaching methods, such as educational, musical, and rhythmical games, improvisation, peer interaction, and artistic interpretation of literature, to engage the bodies, minds, and spirits of the dancers.
One of the highlights of Melbourne Ballet School is the numerous performance opportunities available to its students. These include open days, annual concerts, Eisteddfods, State Competitions, and performances at local council and school festivals and events. Participating in these events helps the students develop confidence and poise as they learn to perform in front of an audience. The school is also involved in many Greater Dandenong City Council community festivals throughout the year.
The Melbourne Ballet School acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land, the Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation, and pays respect to them, their culture, and their Elders past and present.
