Are you the owner of MCPD Cheer and Dance?

MCPD Cheer and Dance is an award-winning competitive and recreational cheer and dance studio located in Cameron Park. Founded by Mellisa Cosgrove in Stockton, the gym has grown to offer a variety of classes and programmes for all ages. The gym prides itself on its family-focused approach to competitive sport.
At MCPD, they believe that cheer and dance should be fun and enjoyable. They have proven that getting results does not require spending hours in the studio. The gym offers a range of cheer and dance styles, including ballet, tap, tumbling, flight, and technique.
In 2023, MCPD added recreational cheer and dance programmes, catering to ages 2 years and up. And in 2024, they are introducing Toddler Tumble classes. The gym strives to be family-friendly and provides a supportive and inclusive environment for all athletes.
MCPD classes include cheer, jazz, ballet, hip hop, pom, and lyrical. They offer both competitive and recreational classes, focusing on personalised programmes to help athletes excel. Each class is tailored to meet the individual needs and goals of the athletes.
Hip Hop classes are available for all ages, bringing to life the playful attitude and fierce choreography of this vibrant and energetic genre. Routines emphasise street-style movements, execution, style, creativity, body isolations, control, rhythm, uniformity, and musical interpretation. Teams may also incorporate jumps, combo jumps, and other tricks for an added athletic element.
Pom classes are high energy and showcase the athletic dance abilities of athletes. Pom poms must be used for 80% of the routine. Important characteristics of a pom routine include synchronisation, visual effect, clean and precise motions, strong pom technique, and dance technical elements.
Cheer classes are available for all ages and open up a world of possibilities for athletes. Each team requires a range of positions to bring together a high-energy, focused, and humble champion cheer team. Cheer routines involve stunting, jumps, tumbling, and end dance, all performed within a high-energy, high-intensity routine. Cheer promotes teamwork, discipline, and fitness, teaching athletes the true meaning of being a team member.
Dance classes at MCPD include both lyrical and jazz routines. In addition to regular dance classes, MCPD offers a Part-Time Dance Programme for high school students who wish to incorporate dance into their curriculum.
