Maynooth Town Football Club is a historic club founded in 1969, resulting from the merger of two local clubs - Maynooth St. Mary's and Ballygoran Utd. The club has a rich history of success in the Leinster Counties League and the Sheeran Cup, and notable achievements include winning the Polikoff Junior Cup in 2014. Maynooth University Town, the senior team, made history by reaching the FAI Intermediate Cup Final in 2018 and securing a victory at the Aviva Stadium.
