Mayada's Bellydance is a renowned dance school located in Mississauga, offering bellydance classes for all levels. With a focus on promoting the art of bellydancing, the school has recently introduced new beginner bellydance courses, as well as classes specifically designed for kids and teens.
The founder of Mayada's Bellydance, Meagan Mayada Hesham, discovered Middle Eastern dance at the age of fifteen in 1994 and has since become a dynamic teacher, popular performer, creative choreographer, and the creator and editor of Canada's first bellydance magazine. Meagan has taught bellydance classes at various prestigious venues, including Arabesque Academy, the Royal Ontario Museum, Ryerson University, and York University. She also ran her own dance and fitness studio in Toronto for over a decade.
With a background and studies in fitness and personal training, Meagan brings a unique perspective on the anatomy of movement to her teaching, allowing students to learn the technique of bellydancing effectively. She is passionate about helping women find time for themselves, reconnect with their bodies, and discover the transformative power of dance.
Meagan has performed as a soloist and lead dancer with Arabesque Dance Company, showcasing her talent across Canada and the United States. Some of her performance highlights include opening for esteemed Arabic artists such as Wael Kfoury, Assi Helani, George Wassouf, and Ragheb Alameh, as well as dancing at the Egyptian Exhibit at the Royal Ontario Museum and Caravan/Toronto (Cairo & Istanbul).
