Just as important as crossing the finish line first.
As a Masters rower at the Cambridge Rowing Club, you will have access to a wide range of boats and equipment at our clubrooms located at Lake Karapiro. Whether you are just starting out with our learn-to-row course or are a seasoned rower looking to compete, we have the resources to support your goals.
Our Masters rowers come from all walks of life and range in age from 27 to 80 years. It's truly inspiring to see older members of our club training hard and preparing for upcoming regattas. Age is just a number when it comes to the passion and dedication of our Masters rowers.
If you decide to continue rowing after completing the learn-to-row course, we will credit the amount paid for your course towards the cost of a Masters subscription. We want to make it as easy as possible for you to dive deeper into the world of rowing and become a valued member of our club.
Coaching and support are an integral part of our Masters program. As a Novice Master rower, you will receive continued coaching until you are fully ready to progress to the next level. Our Roll Up & Row sessions allow you to mix with experienced rowers and further develop your skills and confidence on the water.
At Cambridge Rowing Club, we believe that rowing is as much about the social aspect as it is about the sport itself. Our Masters members row regularly on Saturday mornings and enjoy a friendly catch-up afterwards at the nearby Podium café. It's a great opportunity to connect with fellow rowers and build lasting friendships.
Don't let the misconception that racing is only for younger rowers hold you back. Many of our Masters rowers compete in formal regattas, testing their skills over a challenging 2,000m distance. However, if you prefer a more relaxed approach, there are also plenty of social regattas where the emphasis is on enjoying the experience and perhaps raising a glass of crisp white to celebrate your rowing achievements.
So, if you're interested in joining our vibrant and inclusive Masters rowing program at Cambridge Rowing Club, don't hesitate to get in touch. We welcome rowers of all skill levels and ages, and we're excited to have you join our social and competitive community. Get ready to embark on an exhilarating journey on the picturesque waters of Maungatautari and discover the joy of rowing with us.
