Martial Arts Biddulph – CKK Bu-Jutsu Kai is a well-established martial arts school located in Stoke-on-Trent, specifically in Biddulph. Founded in 1987 at Mill Hayes Hall Knypersley, the school moved to its current address at The Academy of Martial Arts Wharf Road Biddulph with the assistance of fellow instructor Phil Blackburn Sensei. As the representative of Welham Martial Arts, Martial Arts Biddulph offers training in Ju-Jitsu, focusing on self-defence techniques for beginners, intermediate, and advanced martial arts students.
The Chief Instructor at Martial Arts Biddulph is Shihan Ken Culshaw, an 8th Dan in Ju-Jitsu. The school is open to new students who are interested in learning martial arts and improving their self-defence skills. The instructors at the school are highly experienced and dedicated to providing comprehensive training to their students.
One of the instructors at Martial Arts Biddulph is Sensei Billy Frickleton, a 6th Dan (Rokudan) in CKK Bu-Jutsu Kai. Frickleton's interest in martial arts began in 1964 with Judo, and he started practising Ju-Jitsu in 1973 under Ken Wright Sensei. He continued his training under Neil Hulme and achieved his Black belt (Shodan) a year later. Frickleton's dedication to martial arts led him to start his own club at Mill Hayes Hall and eventually join forces with Blackburn Sensei to establish the current martial arts school in Biddulph.
Sensei Stuart Gower is another instructor at Martial Arts Biddulph, holding a 5th Dan (Godan) in CKK Bu-Jutsu Kai. Gower started his martial arts journey at the Congleton school of Judo in 1976 and then began practising Ju-Jitsu in 1986 under Neil Hulme Sensei. He achieved various Dan ranks throughout his training, including 1st Dan (Shodan), 2nd Dan (Nidan), 3rd Dan (Sandan), and finally reaching the rank of 5th Dan (Godan) in 2013.
The Junior class at Martial Arts Biddulph meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:15 PM to 7:05 PM and on Saturdays from 10:15 AM to 11:05 AM. The Senior class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturdays from 11:30 AM to 1 PM. The school welcomes individuals of all ages and skill levels who are interested in learning martial arts and self-defence techniques.
