In addition to Ballroom, we also offer a wide range of dance styles, including Latin, Salsa, Swing, Rock 'n' Roll, Jive, Lindy Hop, Modern Jazz, Gymnastic Dance, Classical, Contemporary, Street Dance, Freestyle, Tap, Musical Theatre, Theatre Craft, Singing, Fitness (Zumba and Fitsteps), Disco, and Ballet. Whether you are looking to learn a specific style or explore various genres, we have classes to suit your needs.
With over 30 years of experience, we are recognised as one of the leading dance training establishments in Norfolk. Our studio is fully equipped with superb facilities, and there is ample parking nearby for your convenience. We take pride in creating a fun and enjoyable learning environment, where students of all ages can improve their confidence, communication skills, and overall life skills.
At Marlene's School of Dance, we offer high-quality instruction for both social dancers and those who aspire to make dance their career. Our teachers are caring, dedicated, and highly qualified, providing individual attention to each student. We are one of the few schools recognised by the Council for Dance Education and Training (CDET), ensuring that our students receive the highest level of training.
We regularly hold examinations with the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA), the largest dance teaching organisation in the world, with a 100% pass rate. Our students have achieved advanced levels in all subjects, allowing them to pursue careers in teaching dance. Many of our former students have been accepted into prestigious theatre colleges in the UK and have gone on to appear in professional shows nationally and internationally.
One of the highlights of our school is our bi-annual show, “Let's Dance,” held at the Pavilion Theatre Cromer. This show showcases the talents of our entire school, from tots to teens, giving students the opportunity to experience stage work. We also regularly hold showcases at local theatres and have the honour of providing students for the professional show Seaside Special and Christmas Seaside Special. We are proud to be a part of the last remaining end of the Pier show worldwide, with our students performing to sold-out audiences of 30,000 people per season.
In addition to performances, our students participate in dance festivals, shows, fetes, concerts, and even music videos. We have a strong presence in competitions, with our Streetdance crews consistently placing first nationwide for the past three years.
