Skill level and age: Fundamental, Learn to Train, and Train to Train/Learn to Compete.
The Markham Speed Skating Club prides itself on fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all members. Whether you're looking to learn the fundamentals of speed skating, improve your technique, or compete at a higher level, our experienced coaches are here to help you achieve your goals.
In addition to regular practices, our club participates in various competitions and events throughout the year, giving members the opportunity to test their skills and progress in the sport. We follow the Long Term Athlete Development Model established by Sports Canada, focusing on personal bests and skill improvement.
Head Coach Stephanie Bowskill brings a wealth of experience to the club, having been a provincial champion for 8 consecutive years and winning the Canadian Age Class Championships in 2009. Her background in competitive speed skating at the national level ensures that members receive top-notch coaching and support.
