Leah would like to take a moment to thank the Market Drayton sports community for their continuous support of Market Drayton Swimming Club. Located at the Market Drayton Swimming and Fitness Centre in Shropshire, the club is passionate about fostering both a friendly and competitive swimming environment. As an affiliated club of Swim England Shropshire and accredited to SwimMark, Leah is committed to offering top-notch coaching to help swimmers reach their full potential.
The club's dedicated team meets five days a week, following a performance programme aimed at developing key skills and attributes necessary for excelling in the sport. With a history of guiding swimmers to County and Regional levels, Leah is proud to offer opportunities for selection in the Shropshire County Development Programme.
Coaching at Market Drayton Swimming Club is handled by a professional team using excellent facilities, including a 25m, 6-lane pool. The club welcomes swimmers from ASA stage 7 and above, with an initial assessment and three free trials for newcomers.
Leah's mission extends beyond honing competitive skills; she emphasises building confidence, self-achievement, and a strong sense of community within the club. The aim is also to enhance fitness and technique while improving overall well-being.
The vision for Market Drayton Swimming Club is to create a fun, safe, and friendly environment for both swimmers and volunteers. Leah is dedicated to providing high-quality coaching and a path for competitive performance, helping swimmers achieve their personal goals whether they are focused on fitness or competition.
On a celebratory note, Leah congratulates the swimmers for their stellar performances at the Derek Taylor Memorial Gala at Fenton Manor Sports Complex. With 49 personal bests out of 55 swims, the club achieved an impressive 89% success rate. Special kudos go to Ava Highfield, Arthur Langdown, Connor Simpson, Isla Lambie, Paige Simpson, Tom Ammundsen, and Ginny Farmer for their medal-winning performances.
