Margate Yacht Club

Welcome to Margate Yacht Club (MYC), a sailing club located in Margate, New Zealand. MYC offers a range of sailing opportunities for individuals, families, and non-sailing members. Whether you are a seasoned sailor or a beginner, MYC welcomes members of all ages and skills.

At MYC, we offer a variety of sailing activities. We provide training sessions for those who are new to sailing or looking to improve their skills. These training sessions are conducted by experienced members of our club who are passionate about sharing their love for sailing.

For those who are more competitive, MYC hosts weekly dinghy racing events. These races are an exciting opportunity to test your skills and compete against other sailors in a friendly and supportive environment. We also organise fun social sailing excursions, where members can enjoy the water and the beautiful scenery while sailing in a wide variety of boats.

Margate Yacht Club is run by dedicated volunteers who are passionate about sailing. Our active membership ensures that there is always something happening at the club. Members have the opportunity to get involved in safety boat and race officer duties on a rota basis throughout our programme. We also offer training for these roles, so even if you are new to safety boat operation or race management, you can get involved and contribute to the club.

Membership at MYC is open to individuals, families, and non-sailing members. We even welcome kayakers and stand-up paddleboarders to join our club and enjoy the benefits of being part of MYC. We have a warm and friendly club atmosphere, where members can connect with like-minded individuals who share a passion for sailing and the water.
