The Malpas Cricket Club Winter Indoor League offers a great opportunity for cricket enthusiasts to stay active during winter. The club is currently making plans to enter a team into the indoor cricket league, with updates to be posted in this section.
The games are held on Thursday evenings at Ruabon Secondary school, specifically in the sports hall located at the back of the school. For those interested, the postcode for the venue is LL14 6BT. Each game has a duration of 1 hour and involves 6 players per side.
If you're keen on taking part in the league, simply get in touch with Glenn at 07860 569088 or email him at mailbox@editmysite.com. Keep in mind that the league follows the rules of the Wrexham Under 10 Junior Indoor Cricket League competition. Participants must be under 10 years old as of 1st September 2011.
During the games, the laws of cricket are adhered to, with each inning lasting 12 overs. In terms of scoring, a win is awarded 2 points and a tie results in 1 point. In the event of a tie in points, the team with the most wickets taken will hold a higher rank. If the tie persists, the team with the highest runs scored will be placed higher.
As safety is of utmost importance, all coaches, and umpires are responsible for ensuring players follow the safety rules. Batsmen and wicketkeepers standing up to the wicket must wear protective equipment, including a helmet, at all times. In order to maintain fair and respectful play, any reports of unreasonable behaviour will be dealt with strictly. Players found guilty of such behaviour will be banned from further participation in the league for the remainder of the season.
While the fixtures for the 2015 season haven't yet been released, stay tuned for more information and updates on the Malpas Cricket Club Winter Indoor League.
