Mallacoota Golf and Country Club

Mallacoota Golf and Country Club (MGCC) is a stunning golf course located in Mallacoota, Victoria, offering a picturesque setting for golfers of all skill levels. Managed by an elected voluntary Committee of Management, the club combines the love for golf with a sense of community.

The club boasts a dedicated team, led by President Max Donovan, Vice President Rae Strauss, Secretary Greg Hopkins, and Treasurer Rachel Durham, alongside committee members Tom Nolan, Hannah Searl, Leon Ellis, and Graham Dempster. Together, they work tirelessly to ensure the smooth operation of the club and provide a memorable experience for members and visitors.

The club's bar, managed by Hannah Searl and her attentive staff, provides excellent service to both club members and visitors. During the festive holiday season, the bar opens at 4:00 pm every day, and during the off-season, it opens on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Course maintenance is a top priority at MGCC, with the responsibility overseen by John Bell. John is supported by a dedicated team of regular volunteers and club members who work together to maintain the course's pristine condition for an enjoyable round of golf.

To make transportation convenient for visitors, MGCC operates a courtesy bus that adheres to the conditions of bus operator registration 2019. However, there are specific rules for children travelling on the bus. Children from birth to under 4 years old are not permitted to ride the bus, while children aged 4 to 7 years are allowed to travel on the courtesy bus. The club provides two booster seats that comply with the Australian/New Zealand Standard 1754 for child restraints for children aged 4 to 7 years.

All passengers above 7 years old must utilise the seat belts provided.

For golf enthusiasts looking to improve their game, the club's golf shop is open daily from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, offering the option to hire carts and clubs. The green fees are affordable, with various options available for adults and juniors.

The club hosts regular golf competitions throughout the week, providing a chance for members to engage in friendly competition. Wednesday mornings are dedicated to the ladies' 9-hole and 18-hole competitions, while Wednesday afternoons are reserved for the men's 9-hole competition. On Fridays, a 9-hole mixed competition takes place, and Saturday mornings are dedicated to men's and ladies' golf.

MGCC also offers a spacious function room that is available for hire. Whether it's a special occasion or a corporate event, the club provides the perfect venue with stunning views. Interested parties can contact the club for more information and availability.

To satisfy the taste buds after an exciting round of golf, the club's bistro, Strange Fruit, is privately managed by Keith Allan. It operates seven nights a week during the holiday season and on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings during the off-season.
