MALCOLM GIBBS DIETITIAN & PERSONAL TRAINER is led by Malcolm Gibbs, a highly experienced Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and Level 3 Australian Registered Exercise Professional (AusREP). With 18 years of experience in private practise dietetics and over 25 years in the fitness industry, Malcolm is dedicated to promoting health, preventing chronic diseases, and improving and maintaining physical fitness in the Wollongong and Campbelltown areas.
Malcolm completed his education at the University of Wollongong, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Human Movement, as well as a Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics. His qualifications and experience make him well-equipped to provide expert advice and guidance in various areas of nutrition and fitness.
At MALCOLM GIBBS DIETITIAN & PERSONAL TRAINER, Malcolm offers a range of services to cater to the needs of his clients. His areas of expertise include healthy eating advice based on the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating, successful weight loss, diabetes prevention and management, fatty liver, insulin resistance and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), cholesterol lowering and cardiovascular health, nutrition advice for exercise and sports training, and fitness advice to increase aerobic fitness and strength.
As a dietitian, Malcolm provides individual consultations and review consultations, ensuring that clients receive personalised attention and support. He prioritises sustainable lifestyle changes over unrealistic short-term solutions, helping clients make long-lasting improvements to their health and well-being. Malcolm is also trained in the use of the Low FODMAP Diet by Monash University, a valuable resource for individuals with IBS.
To make his services more accessible, Malcolm offers telehealth and telephone appointments, Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) appointments, Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) Gold Card appointments, and private healthcare appointments with HICAPS, Medicare Easy Claim, and EFTPOS facilities. He also runs a weight loss clinic at Woonona Medical Practise.
In addition to his expertise in dietetics, Malcolm is a seasoned personal trainer. He provides in-home personal training services for clients in the Wollongong Local Area, making use of their home gym or exercise equipment. This option is particularly convenient for busy individuals and those who feel self-conscious in a traditional gym setting. Malcolm offers exercise programmes ranging from 4–6 weeks to one-on-one training, focusing on strength training, aerobic training, and event-specific training for activities like fun runs or long bike rides.
He specialises in training individuals over 50 and warmly welcomes beginners.
Consultations with Malcolm are available at several local medical practises in the area. These include Woonona Medical Practise on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, East Corrimal Medical Centre on Tuesdays, Dapto Healthcare every second Monday, and Appin Family Practise every second Monday as well. Clients from other medical practises are welcome to visit any of these locations.
