Alfie Stewart welcomes you to Maghera Cricket Club! Situated in Magherafelt, Northern Ireland, Alfie got the ball rolling in 2013 together with some cricket enthusiasts. Backed by Cricket Ireland, the club's been a game-changer for local cricket fans.
Maghera Cricket Club runs two senior teams with 60-plus players, battling it out in competitions like the North-West Cricket Union league, Mid-Week T20, and Social T10. Alfie’s also buzzing about their junior section, with 40 young talents aiming to crack the North West Junior leagues by 2024. Plans for a women's team are also on the cards for 2024.
Senior training sessions hit off every Monday and Thursday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, while the juniors train on Mondays from 6:30pm to 8pm. Matchdays switch around with T20 on Wednesdays and Fridays, 40 Over League games on Saturdays, and T10 Social cricket on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Junior matches are still in the works.
Everything goes down at The Rainey Endowed School Sports Ground, boasting top-tier facilities like changing rooms, nets, bowling machines, and all the gear you need.
