Excited to have you join our Martial Arts for Life Karate club!
Firstly, we want to keep you updated on our summer class schedule. Classes will be running throughout July and here are the timings and locations: Harewood on Tuesdays at 6.30pm, Calcutt on Thursdays at 7.30pm, and Collingham on Saturdays at 10am. Please note that the Thursday classes at Pannal and Collingham will resume in September.
If you're not yet ready to come back to our physical dojo, no worries! Our Chief Instructor, Master Janet McKenna, invites you to train with her online on Saturday mornings. The online karate classes are held at 9.30am and 10am. The best part is that £6 covers everyone in your household for the full hour of training. It's a great opportunity to learn something new and improve your skills. The classes will have different themes, so make sure to check our News Pages on Vimeo or our Facebook pages to see what form or part of the syllabus will be covered.
To access the online classes, you'll need to purchase an entry code. Each code is £6 per household for the hour. You can select your preferred option in our shop and the new code will appear in your online receipt. Alternatively, you can transfer £6 by BACs/Faster payments and state your name in the reference. We'll email you the code once the payment is received. If you have any problems with accessing the classes, please email the office for assistance.
We want to ensure that each virtual class runs smoothly for our students and instructors. Therefore, we have set up some housekeeping rules. These rules will help maintain a positive and productive learning environment. Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with these rules.
Now, let's talk about upcoming events and important announcements.
Please note that there will be no classes over the weekend of the Coronation on the 6th and 7th of May 2023. However, you can make up your classes at Harewood on Tuesday or Collingham or Calcutt on Thursday.
Mark your calendars for the Grading and Dan Grade Seminar on March 11th, 2023. The event will be held at Hampsthwaite Memorial Hall. Gup (Coloured) belts Grading will begin at 9.30am, so please arrive at 9.20am and be ready to start on time. Make sure to bring your Grading/Licence book and your Bong. Parents and guardians will be invited into the Dojang for the presentation of belts and certificates. The seminar will run alongside the Grading, and instructors will be available to assist with any questions. If you have any queries regarding the event, feel free to email us.
Lastly, we have some changes to our class schedule due to the holiday season. The last classes for this year will be held on different dates at various locations. Please check the schedule carefully. Online Saturday classes will continue as long as there is demand, so please let us know if you're interested. All classes will resume from the 3rd of January, 2023.
We hope this update helps you stay informed and connected with what's happening at Martial Arts for Life Karate. We're looking forward to seeing you at our upcoming events and classes. Keep up the great work, and remember to have fun while training!
