Maffra Memorial Pool

Maffra Memorial Pool, located on Duke Street in Maffra, is one of the outdoor seasonal swimming pools operated by Wellington Shire Council. Opening for the 2023-24 outdoor pool season on Saturday 25 November, the pool provides a refreshing and enjoyable swimming experience for the local community.

During the off-peak season from 24 November to 15 December 2023, the pool is open on weekdays from 4pm to 7. 30pm and on weekends and public holidays from 10. 30am to 6pm. From 16 December 2023 to 28 January 2024, considered the peak season, the pool opens on weekdays from 11am to 7pm.

It is important to note that regardless of the temperature and forecast, the pool will be open from 12pm to 3pm every day during the peak season.

From 29 January to 11 March 2024, during the off-peak season, the pool returns to its previous operating hours of weekdays from 4pm to 7pm. The public swimming times for Maffra Memorial Pool are determined by a temperature forecast trigger, based on the Bureau of Meteorology's forecast for Sale. The pool opens when the forecasted temperature for Sale, issued at 4pm on the previous day, is 25 degrees Celsius or higher.

Lap swimming sessions are offered at Maffra, Sale, and Yarram Outdoor Pools from 6am to 8am, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. Unlike public swimming times, lap swimming sessions operate regardless of the temperature forecast.

Maffra Memorial Pool offers guaranteed open hours of 12pm to 3pm during the peak season, ensuring that visitors can enjoy swimming regardless of the temperature. Daily forecasts can be found on the Bureau of Meteorology website, and information on next day's operating hours can be found on the Aqua Energy Facebook page, which is updated at 5pm daily.

The entry fees for Maffra Memorial Pool are as follows: adult casual pool entry is $7. 30, child entry for ages 5-15 is $4. 90, and family/group entry (2 adults and 2 children) is $19. 50.

Concession entry is $5. 80. For those who frequent the pool, a 10-session pool pass is available: $65. 70 for adults, $44.

10 for children, and $52 for concession. Families can also opt for a season pass, which covers 15 weeks of outdoor pool access: $122 for adults, $81. 60 for children, and $98. 10 for concession.

Family season passes are available for $203.

Maffra Memorial Pool caters to the “Watch around Water” policy, which means that children under 5 years must be within arm's reach of a responsible adult at all times, and children 10 years and under must be under constant visual supervision of a responsible adult. Unsupervised children are not allowed in the water, and a responsible adult must be 16 years of age or older.
