Welcome to Mackay Bridge Club, located in West Mackay, Central Queensland. Established in 1949, the Mackay Contract Bridge Club became a member of the Queensland Bridge Association in 1968 and was formally incorporated in 1986.
Our club is situated on the Whitsunday Coast, making it one of the closest regional centres to the stunning Whitsunday Islands of the Great Barrier Reef. We are a non-profit organisation that relies on the financial support of our members through annual membership levies and table fees.
At Mackay Bridge Club, we welcome players of all levels and experience. Whether you're a seasoned player or just starting out, we provide a welcoming and safe environment for everyone. Our facilities are air-conditioned, and we maintain a library, run teaching classes, and encourage an interest in administration and directing competitive events.
We offer a diverse range of play sessions, with seven sessions running each week, including a supervised play session. Visitors are always welcome to join us, and if you're visiting the region and need a partner, our partner organiser will be more than happy to assist you.
Mackay Bridge Club is affiliated with the Australian Bridge Federation (ABF) and participates in the Master Point scheme. Players can achieve higher rankings based on their performance at the table. In addition, the ABF provides subsidies for a Central Queensland team to compete in the Grand National Open Teams final in Brisbane.
Our club is proud to be the host of the Barrier Reef Congress, a prestigious event that takes place every four years. This gold-point event attracts players from all over Australia and overseas, and the next congress is scheduled for Mackay in 2024.
