Lytton School of Dance is a multidisciplinary dance school located in Wolverhampton, New Zealand. With three locations in Penn, Coven, and Wombourne, the school offers a wide range of dance classes for students of all ages, starting from 3 years old through adult.
The classes offered at Lytton School of Dance include tap, ballet, acrobatic, disco, musical comedy, and stage dance. Students have the opportunity to participate in medal tests and dancing examinations, which are held prior to the annual dancing show at the Mill Theatre in Sedgley.
Founded in 1962 by Judith Lathbury and her mother, Lytton School of Dance was established with the aim of teaching the art of dance in a friendly, happy, and social environment. Judith, who is still the principal of the school, is now assisted by her son Richard.
The school has had several successful alumni, including actress Sian Reeves, who started dancing with Lytton School of Dance at the age of two. Sian went on to appear in the original West End cast of Les Misrables and has since had a successful career in television. She credits her time at Lytton School of Dance for giving her the confidence and skills to pursue a career in performing.
Lytton School of Dance prides itself on providing a nurturing and supportive environment for students to learn and grow. Whether students aspire to have a career in performing or simply want to develop their skills and confidence, the school aims to help each individual find their own unique path.
