Luton Town Walking Football Club Men is another local event/activity/class that has been gaining popularity over the years. Founded in May 2023, the club aims to provide a fun and inclusive environment for men over the age of 50 who are passionate about soccer. Led by coach David Brown, the sessions have attracted a dedicated group of approximately 30 registered players.
The men's team is a diverse mix of individuals with varying levels of experience. Some have played the game competitively in the past, while others have simply played for the love of the sport. There are even a few players who have never kicked a ball before but are eager to give it a go.
Walking Football is a modified version of the beautiful game that emphasises slower, walking pace, making it a great option for those who may have physical limitations or simply prefer a less intense style of play. It offers a unique opportunity to stay active, socialise, and have a good time while enjoying the sport we all love.
The club's primary objective is to foster a sense of camaraderie and friendly competition among its members. While there may be aspirations of achieving cup and tournament success, the focus remains on the joy of playing and the friendships formed on and off the pitch.
The sessions for the men's team take place at Challney High School For Boys, located on Addington Way in Luton (LU4 9FJ). It's a fantastic facility that provides a safe and welcoming environment for players to come together and have a kickabout.
Whether you're a seasoned veteran or a complete novice, Luton Town Walking Football Club Men and Ladies are the perfect opportunities to keep fit, make new friends, and enjoy the beautiful game of soccer. So lace up those boots and join us for some enjoyable and leisurely-paced football action!
