Lurgan Town Football Club, situated in Craigavon, has been a cornerstone of local football since its inception in 1988. Founded by Brian Gordon and Junior Mercer, the club has always had a clear mission: to offer a safe environment for football enthusiasts to hone their skills.
Based at Lurgan Town Arena, 83 Glenavon Lane, Lurgan, Co Armagh, the club proudly aligns with the National Governing Body (IFA), and is recognised by both UEFA and FIFA. Lurgan Town FC’s commitment to the game is unwavering, focusing on encouraging participation, fostering competition, and helping players elevate their footballing prowess. The club champions inclusivity, ensuring everyone in the community has the chance to succeed on the pitch.
For the 2021/22 season, the club boasts a robust membership of 600, with 540 players, 52 coaches, and 8 volunteers. The club's structure is comprehensive, featuring numerous teams from Boys and Girls Academies, Soccability Juniors, U11 to U17 teams, to Senior Men’s 1st and 2nd Teams.
Lurgan Town FC competes in several regional leagues, including the Mid-Ulster Games Development Centre for U7 to U10, the Mid-Ulster Youth League for U11 to U17, the Mid-Ulster Juvenile League for U19, and the Mid-Ulster Intermediate B and Reserve Championship for the Senior Men’s teams.
Membership fees vary by age group. For instance, Boys Academy (U7 to U10) has an annual fee of £50 for new players and £30 for returning players, with monthly payments of £15 over 9 months. Girls Academy (U9 to U13) and Junior Teams (U11 to U19) follow similar structures. Senior Men’s Team members and volunteers have a nominal fee of £5.
