The Ki Society H. Q. in Japan. Our primary focus is on Aikido training, which is a Japanese martial art that emphasises the unification of mind and body.
Located in Loughborough, Leicestershire, the Loughborough Ki Society offers a supportive and welcoming environment for individuals of all ages and abilities. The Loughborough Ki Society has two skilled instructors leading the training programmes. Ian Parsons serves as the Chief Instructor with a Yondan (4th Dan) rank, as well as a Chuden Lecturer rank. Dan Grey, the Head Instructor, holds a Nidan (2nd Dan) rank, along with a Shoden Lecturer rank.
In addition to Aikido classes, we also offer Ki development and Kiatsu sessions. Ki development focuses on harnessing the power of Ki, which is our living energy, through concentration and coordination of mind and body. Kiatsu is a holistic healing technique using Ki, aiming to relieve stress and tension in the body.
We also provide children's classes, creating a safe and enjoyable environment for kids to learn Aikido and develop their physical and mental skills. Our instructors tailor the classes to suit the age and abilities of the children, ensuring a positive learning experience.
At Loughborough Ki Society, we adhere to the principles established by Master Koichi Tohei, the founder of the Ki Society, Shin Shin Toitsu Aikido, and Kiatsu. These principles include “keeping one point,” which promotes physical, mental, and spiritual balance, “relaxing completely,” leading to the release of stress and tension, and “extending Ki,” which encourages the full utilisation of our living power for a healthy and vigorous life.
We are proud to be affiliated with the UK Ki Federation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to spreading and promoting the teachings of Ki Aikido, Kiatsu, and the unification of mind and body. The UK Ki Federation is recognised by the Ki Society H. Q. in Japan, and all our instructors are certified by Ki Society H.
