Longmynd Archery Club

Long Mynd Archery Club, located in Church Stretton, Shropshire, England, is an archery club nestled in the breathtaking beauty of the Shropshire Hills. Specialising in target archery, the club caters to individuals using recurve, compound, and longbows. With a thriving junior and senior section, Long Mynd Archers provides a welcoming and inclusive environment for archers of all ages and skill levels.

Long Mynd Archers takes pride in its team of 6 Archery GB accredited coaches, who are trained at various levels to cater to the coaching needs of archers ranging from beginners to international competitors. These coaches have undergone enhanced DBS (formerly CRB) checks, ensuring the safety and well-being of all club members.

Affiliated with the Shropshire Archery Society, the West Midlands Archery Society, and Archery GB, Long Mynd Archers is a member of Ontarget, Archery GB's Club Development Programme. By joining Ontarget, the club publicly pledges to be open, friendly, and dedicated to advancing the sport of archery while actively working alongside Archery GB.

The club hosts a range of exciting events and tournaments throughout the year. One of the upcoming events is the “Blow Away The Cobwebs 2024” tournament, which includes the WMAS WA Double 70M/60M/50M and WA 70M/60M/50M competitions. This tournament holds World Record Status and will take place on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th April 2024. More information and entry forms can be found on the club's website.

Long Mynd Archery Club has seen remarkable achievements from its members, including young archer Hector who won gold at the National Junior Indoor Championship. Even though he was trailing, Hector managed to secure victory in the Under 12 Junior Men's Recurve division. The club takes great pride in celebrating the success of its members and nurturing their talent.
