Martyn Jones, the organiser of the London Welsh Rugby Club Choir, wants to share an update with the sports community. Martyn's been at the heart of this renowned male voice choir based in Richmond, and over the past decade, they've become one of the top choirs in the UK with plenty of achievements to their name.
This choir has made its mark with standout performances, including a tour with the 2005 British and Irish Lions in New Zealand, and trips to Scandinavia, Asia and across Europe. They've also been on national radio and TV, and even performed at the 2012 London Olympics in front of a massive global audience.
The choir is always looking for new members and provides a great hobby for those wanting to join a talented group. Rehearsals are open to the public and new members, held on the first Sunday of every month at the Welsh Chapel on Beauchamp Road.
While there are no events currently scheduled, the choir is available for bookings. They've performed at various events such as weddings, awards nights, funerals, and memorial services, and have featured on TV and radio. To book the choir, reach out to Kevin Hughes at 07818 000404 or via email at bookings@lwrcc.uk.
The choir is also a registered charity (Charity No. 1160723) and can be contacted for membership inquiries, sponsorship opportunities, or any website issues. Their address is Old Deer Park, 187 Kew Road, Richmond, Surrey TW9 2AZ, and they can be contacted at 07958 95 34 45 or chairman@lwrcc.uk.
If you want to see the choir in action, visit their rehearsals at the Welsh Chapel in Clapham Junction on the first Sunday of each month, starting at 12:30 pm and running until about 4 pm. Anyone keen to join or work with the choir can either pop by and introduce themselves or contact Martyn Jones at chairman@lwrcc.uk or 07958 95 34 45.
The London Welsh Rugby Club Choir, under Martyn’s guidance, continues to earn respect and accolades for their dedication and talent, making them a sought-after group in the UK.
