The London RYA First Aid Course is a fantastic opportunity for sailors to gain important knowledge and skills in First Aid. Hosted by Hamilton Sailing, this one-day course (or 2 x evenings) takes place in our classroom at Waterloo Webber St SE18EN and Waterloo Road London, conveniently located just a short 5-minute walk from the BR station.
Designed specifically for those using small craft and supporting skippers of yachts and small craft within 60 nm of a safe haven, this course covers a range of vital topics. From CPR and the recovery position to cold water shock, burns, hypothermia, bleeding, and choking, participants will learn essential first aid techniques that can make all the difference in a medical emergency.
But that's not all! The course also covers other significant areas such as helicopter rescue, VHF bandaging, stroke and heart attack response, as well as rescue and self-protection measures. Participants will also gain valuable knowledge about first aid contents and their correct usage.
This course is MCA approved, and upon completion, participants will receive a certificate that is valid for 3 years. Not only is this course a must-have for aspiring Coastal/Yachtmaster Skippers, but it also equips individuals with skills that can be useful in various settings, whether at home or in the workplace.
