Com Loganholme Cricket Club is the premier cricket club in and around the Loganholme area in Tanah Merah, Australia. With a history dating back almost 40 years, the club has established itself as a powerhouse in the local cricket community.
The club offers registration for both junior and senior players. Junior registration is available for boys and girls aged 10 to 16 years in the Logan District. The cost of junior registration varies depending on the level, with Level 1 priced at $150 plus $16 insurance, and Level 2 and 3 priced at $200 plus $16 insurance. Senior registration for Logan Districts is priced at $140 plus $22.
50 insurance, with an additional $25 per week to play. Alternatively, players can opt for an upfront payment of $500 for the entire season. For those interested in participating in the Gold Coast Cricket Over 40s Competition, registration is $60 plus $22. 50 insurance, with a weekly playing fee of $30.
Players participating in both Saturday and Sunday matches have a total registration fee of $180 plus $22. 50 insurance and match day fees.
Established in 1987, Loganholme Cricket Club was formed through the merging of junior and senior sides. Originally playing at Cornubia Park in collaboration with the Loganholme Soccer Club, the club later moved to Alexander Clarke Park in 1997, which had a newly-installed turf wicket. In 1999, the club relocated to Tansey Park in Tanah Merah following a request from the Logan City Council. Playing cricket all year round, Tansey Park offers excellent facilities for the club's members.
Throughout its history, the Loganholme Cricket Club has achieved immense success, securing numerous premierships across various grades. Notably, the club has produced talented players who have gone on to play at higher levels, including the Queensland Cricket Association and even representing the state of Queensland. One of the club's most successful cricketers is Geraint Jones, the former wicket-keeper for the English national team. Furthermore, local juniors Derek Tate and Alan Rowe have made significant accomplishments, with Tate winning the Peter Burge Medal in 2005 and Rowe captaining the Australian Under 19 team.
Currently, the Loganholme Cricket Club participates in the Cricket Gold Coast and Logan District competitions. Their matches span across a wide geographical area, from Loganholme to Tweed Heads and west to Beaudesert. In addition, the junior sides of the club compete in the Redlands competition, providing young boys and girls with valuable opportunities to develop their cricket skills and contribute to the club's continued success.
