Nestled in Aviemore, Scotland, within the beautiful Cairngorms National Park, Loch Morlich Sailing Club is a welcoming RYA-affiliated spot. Established over 50 years ago by local outdoor lovers, it’s a place for sharing a love of sailing and water sports.

The club is members-only, but canoeists, windsurfers, paddleboarders, and open water swimmers are always welcome. Everyone, regardless of age or skill, deserves a chance to enjoy the water.

Loch Morlich, with its breathtaking setting amidst the Cairngorm mountains, is perfect for beginners. Members can use a variety of boats, including an Enterprise, a Wayfarer, Lasers, and more. Although the club doesn’t offer lessons or boat rentals, a nearby water-sports centre at the loch’s beach end does.

Inclusivity is key at Loch Morlich Sailing Club. Jane emphasises creating a supportive environment for families, young people, seniors, and groups to enjoy positive experiences on the water through peer-centred learning.

Run entirely by volunteers, Jane encourages all members to contribute, fostering camaraderie and fulfilment. The clubhouse, on the loch’s north shore, offers stunning mountain views, changing rooms, and a cosy social space. Note, there’s no mains electricity or water, but facilities include a dinghy park and limited private parking.
