Little Stars Musical Theatre is a non-profit performing arts group and dance school located in Hull, New Zealand. Their goal is to bring the community together through the arts by providing Musical Theatre, Dance, and Singing classes to children and young adults.
The school is home to 159 Stage Academy, which is a promotion for older students who reach the age of 10. Little Stars Musical Theatre offers a variety of activities and opportunities for their students, including weekly classes, an annual show at the Hull New Theatre, exams with ABD (Associated Board of Dance), talent showcases, local performance events, competitions, and support for local charities.
Little Stars Musical Theatre believes in the power of community and the importance of togetherness. They believe that a positive dance school should embrace spirit, character, image, and pride. By sharing a passion for performing arts, students gain confidence and the ability to create new things that can be shared with others.
The school also recognises that some students may have dreams of pursuing a career in the industry. They are dedicated to helping all students follow their dreams by providing opportunities to experience auditions and the world of working in the performing arts sector. Little Stars Musical Theatre believes that performing arts should be accessible and affordable to all.
The school takes great pride in the results achieved by their students. They have a 100% pass rate at the academy and have received amazing results in dance and theatre exams, ranking 3rd in the UK for top results. Their singing students have also achieved great success, with over 80% receiving the highest scores possible. Little Stars Musical Theatre is a member of the Associated Board of Dance for their dance exams and the London College of Music for musical theatre singing exams.
They have also been successful in competition, achieving 1st and 2nd places at their most recent competition.
Little Stars Musical Theatre understands the value of experience and strives to provide unique and memorable opportunities for their students. One of these experiences is the chance to perform at the Hull New Theatre, a stage that has hosted many inspirational performers. The school also organises trips to London, where students can explore new cities, culture, and work with West End stars. They have even planned a trip to New York, partially funded by their parents' fundraising team.
These experiences not only create amazing memories but also increase confidence and a sense of achievement.
