Just a mile from Banchory lies Little Blackhall and Inchmarlo Fishing, a family-run fishery comprising the Little Blackhall and Inchmarlo beats. Unique for its double-bank fishing, it caters to anglers with a range of water depths.
Deeply connected to the historic Blackhall Castle, built in 1771 and dismantled in 1947, the fishery still features remnants like the walled garden, ice house, arboretum, and river-side roadway. Drawing from this rich history, the fishery proudly uses the castle's logo.
Jamie has been at the helm since Little Blackhall joined the family in 1999, expanding the fishery to include Inchmarlo in 2002. Now united, these beats offer diverse challenges: Little Blackhall presents a mix of shallow and deep waters, while Inchmarlo is known for its easier access to deeper waters from the bank without wading.
Surrounded by woods and summer wildflowers, the environment promises a serene fishing experience. What truly sets Little Blackhall and Inchmarlo Fishing apart is their commitment to anglers and conservation. Jamie and the team have pioneered initiatives like day rods, evening rods, and youth open days to make salmon fishing more accessible.
