About
The Lismore Cricket Club, located in the heart of the farm grounds of Lismore Castle, is one of Munster's oldest cricket clubs. With a rich history dating back to 1872, the club has experienced ups and downs but has recently witnessed a remarkable resurgence. The Club Committee, alongside dedicated members, has played a crucial role in enhancing the grounds, clubhouse, and facilities, ensuring a promising future for the club.
As the sole club in Munster with an all-grass wicket, Lismore Cricket Club prides itself on providing not only high-quality games but also a traditional ambiance for players and spectators. With around 40 dedicated members, the club fields a league team in Division 3 of the Munster League and hosts friendly matches with teams from Ireland and the UK.
The club is committed to maintaining high standards, with recent investments in pitch maintenance and the acquisition of wicket covers in 2024. The completion of a new shed and upcoming building renovations further demonstrate the club's dedication to providing a top-notch cricketing experience. Whether you're a seasoned player or a curious spectator, the club welcomes all to join their cricketing community at Castle Farm.
Under the leadership of Chairman Nat Simcox, the Lismore Cricket Club continues to celebrate the spirit of cricket and looks forward to welcoming more generations to their beloved club. With upcoming matches and events, the club invites supporters to join them in their journey towards excellence in cricket.
