The project involved meetings with regulatory bodies, local council staff, professional service providers, geo-engineering consultants, and potential construction and funding partners. Concept design and construction were informed by visits to well-regarded mini-golf facilities throughout the North Island, ensuring a high standard of workmanship and a layout that maximises enjoyment for visitors.

In terms of funding, the Lions Mini Golf facility has been made possible through the generous support of the Lions Club of Middle Districts Charitable Trust, public donations, and sponsorship from the Palmerston North business community. With a budget exceeding $350,000, the facility is built to be affordable for family participation and can accommodate over 80 people per hour.

Thanks to the overwhelming support of sponsors and donors, the project commenced in early 2022. The Lions Mini Golf Committee expresses gratitude to the local business sector and building industry for their generosity and spontaneous support.

At the facility, visitors can also expect amenities such as an open area and seating, as well as a kiosk selling refreshments such as drinks and packaged ice creams.
