Our training methods are a combination of traditional karate and modern self-defence techniques. Our experienced instructors will guide you through the training process, helping you develop discipline, focus, and self-confidence.

Founded by Shihan Syed Mohiuddin, a highly experienced karate practitioner with three decades of training, Lion Budokan Karate International is dedicated to providing high-quality martial arts education in Auckland. Syed Mohiuddin sees karate as more than just a sport but as an essential art for people to learn and practise.

Our syllabus is based on traditional karate and modern self-defence, providing a well-rounded education. We have a milestone system in place to track your progress and tournaments to help test your skills.

Furthermore, we strive to strike a balance between participation and performance coaching, emphasising both skill development and physical fitness. Our instructors are experienced and dedicated to helping you achieve your goals. We have a proper grading system in place to recognise and reward your progress. And once you achieve your black belt, you will have the opportunity to qualify for licencing.

Lion Budokan Karate International started with just a handful of students in 2013, and we have grown to have hundreds of happy members.
