Of karate. The dojo is currently located in Garryowen at the Garryowen Rugby Club, offering classes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Limerick Shojinkai aims to provide traditional Japanese Shotokan karate training in a welcoming and supportive environment. The instructors focus on teaching the fundamental aspects of karate, including Japanese terminology and etiquette, proper dress and belt tying, self-discipline, confidence building, and respect. Children as young as 3 years old can participate in the “Limerick Shojinkai Tiger Academy,” designed to introduce them to the world of karate in a fun and engaging way.

For older students and adults, Limerick Shojinkai offers training sessions that cater to all levels of experience, from beginners to advanced practitioners. Members have the opportunity to participate in local, national, and international competitions, as well as training trips to Japan to train with some of the best karate practitioners in the world.

Limerick Shojinkai is a member of the Japan Karate Shoto Federation led by Kagawa Masao Shihan and Dermot O'Keeffe Sensei, providing a high standard of training and a strong sense of community within the club. The instructors at Limerick Shojinkai are dedicated to helping students grow and develop their karate skills while promoting values such as discipline, respect, and perseverance.
